Aug. 13                   FIRST DAY OF SCHOOL FOR 2018-19 SCHOOL YEAR

 MESSAGE FROM MRS. BARNHARDT:  Thank you to everyone that collected and brought pop tabs this school year.  Our school collected 140 pounds of pop tabs for the Ronald McDonald House!!! Mrs. Hall and Mrs. Freeman’s 2nd grade won the contest for a reward trip for collecting the most pop tabs.  Please start saving them up now because we will be doing the Pop Tab Pandemonium next school year also. A GREAT BIG THANK YOU to our PTO for assisting in the reward trip for the 2nd grade classes who won this year’s Pop Tab Pandemonium contest.

 HANDBOOK SURVEY:  We sent the first Nemo Vista Handbook Survey for the new 2018-19 school year last week.  A BIG thank you to everyone who sent it back this week!  A second notice will go home next week ONLY with the students/ family that haven’t turned it in yet.  We have to have 100% response to this survey.  THIS IS A DISTRICT HANDBOOK SO PLEASE ONLY TURN IN ONE PER FAMILY FOR ALL K-12 AND MAKE SURE ALL K-12 STUDENTS WHO ARE LIVING IN YOUR HOUSEHOLD ARE LISTED ON THE SHEET SO WE CAN MARK YOUR FAMILY OFF.    

EVENT DAY:  Track Meet is Wednesday May 2nd.  There will be various concessions available thru out the day.  Please put your child’s spending money inside a Ziploc bag or envelope with their name and teacher name on it.  PLEASE DO NOT SEND MONEY FOR YOUR CHILDS TEACER TO DIVIDE BETWEEN SIBLINGS IN ANOTHER CLASSROOM.   Prices for event day:  various candy will be sold for  .25 – 1.25; snow cones .50 and popcorn .50.

5TH AND 6TH GRADE TRACK MEET:  Our 5th and 6th graders will participate in our annual Track Meet Wednesday May 2nd.  Parents and relatives are welcome to come watch.  You DO NOT have to sign at the office if you stay with and follow the Track Meet schedule.  If you need to go inside ANY building at any time you MUST sign in at the office.

COAT RACK IS FULL: The lost and found coat rack is about to tip over it’s so loaded down!!!  There are jackets, coats, sweaters, hoodies, hats, gloves, lunch boxes etc….all over it. Please send your child to look or you can come look any time.  After the last day of school we will send all of them to the care center or FBCCR clothes closet.  If a student shows interest in an item that no one claims I will let them have it on the last day.

LUNCH AND LIBRARY CHARGES:  If you owe for lunch charges or library charges you must pay before the last day of school.  IF YOU STILL OWE MONEY ON THE LAST DAY YOU WILL NOT RECEIVE YOUR CHILD’S FINAL REPORT CARD.  You will have to come to the office or cafeteria office to pay and get report card.

MRS. VIRDEN CHALLENGES ALL MIDDLE SCHOOL AND ELEMENTARY STUDENTS TO A MONTH OF PERFECT ATTENDANCE!!!  Monday is the last day for this challenge….we will look at all attendance Monday after school to see who qualifies.  If you miss 0-1 days ~ excused or unexcused ~ for the month of April you will be eligible for a reward in May!  The specific reward will depend on how many qualify. 

BOOK FAIR BOGO EVENT:  Elementary/Middle School Book Fair will be April 30th to May 4th.  This is a Buy One Get One FREE event!! Parents are welcome to shop during the day if they sign in at the office.  Cash/Debit Cards accepted.  Sorry---No Checks allowed...

 

Lil HAWKS BASKETBALL CAMP JULY 16TH – 18TH 2018Mrs. Virden wants to announce the dates & times for this summer’s basketball camp for all K-6 graders.  It will be held in 2 sessions just like last year.  If you have students entering 4th – 6th grades they will come to the new gym for camp at 8:30 – 11:30 AM for the morning session.  All students entering Kindergarten – 3rd grades will come to camp at the new gym from 5:30 – 7:00 PM for the evening session.   Make plans to attend this very fun and informational camp.  Invite your relatives from other schools and help spread the word.  The more the merrier! J  Camp registration forms will come later.
