As the 2021-2022 school year is nearing its end, work has already begun to ensure that the next school year will be equally as successful. With that being said, there are some significant personnel changes for the 2022-2023 school year that we would like to bring to your attention. We are deeply saddened to announce that after 22 years of dedicated service as our Elementary Principal, Mrs. Virden has announced her plans to retire at the end of this school year. It would be difficult, if not impossible to sum up all of her accomplishments over the past 22 years. However, it is safe to say that her hard work, commitment, and dedication to the district and our students will always be valued and remembered. Although we will be deeply saddened to see her go, we want to wish Mrs. Virden a happy and well-deserved retirement.
As with any change, new opportunities often present themselves. Mrs. Setzer who has been serving as the High School and Middle School principal for the past 3 school years will be taking over the role as Elementary Principal. Mrs. Setzer has had several years of elementary experience prior to accepting the role as M.S./H.S. principal. Taking over the principal position in Middle School and High School will be Mr. Chase Fresneda. Mr. Fresneda has been working within the district since 2016 and has served as High School literacy teacher, High School Dean of Students, and ALE Director.
I think I speak for all of us at Nemo Vista School District when I say that Mrs. Virden will be greatly missed. However, we are beyond excited about continuing to provide our students with high quality educational opportunities As always we thank you for all the support you have given the school district throughout this year and Go Redhawks!
